Without knowing what operating system or what email client you are using, this is going to be a stab in the dark. I'm going to assume you are using Windows XP. I am also going to assume that you DEFINITELY trust the source of this zipped file. PLEASE be sure you are not getting a spam message instead of a trustworthy message.
The email should have an attachment. If you are using Outlook, right-click on the attachment and select Save As. Find your desktop entry and save the file.
Once the file is saved, minimize or close all of your windows and get to your desktop. Right-click on the zipped folder and you should have an option to Extract All or similar (depending on if you have 7Zip or WinZip). Select what location you need to unzip the folder to and continue with the wizard. Since we don't know what zip program you have on your computer, this is again a stab in the dark.
Good luck!
