Best Business Rental Software And Rental System.....

Nowadays technology has expand their retail tremendously in web world as well as just like the technology suppliers have also finding the ways for rental software product for the purpose of easier to use. Biggest profit is "abstraction" now there we talking on the meaning of abstraction is where on-the-internet rental software could efficiently handling such kind of task like managed inventory, inward invoice systems, Data base manipulation and as well as coordinately work with another software may be these are the tax programs, accounting software and different adaptable software's.

One famous personality who is Steve kohn, president, Miller's Rentals, Edison, N.J says that "Software has come a long way". Most of the manufacturers are try to convert their window based product into the more user friendly system.

Basically according to current trend most of the developer is try to connect their program with other software's as well as also makes compatible with different or new hardware and also try to present their information with other and attractive ways. Abstraction of the rental software with the other technologies such as radio frequency identification (RFID), bar coding and global positioning system (GPS) they say that most of the try of their people is fully automate the rental software so employees of the rental software company spend more time with the helping of customers not only feeding data in to the system.

Same in mobile technologies if we could add abstract rental software with mobile then it can also give the real out put time information, capturing real time information and saves most the time of the customers as well as also enabling in real time routing and scheduling. The main benefit of the abstract rental software is if we can use it in internet technologies then enable rental Software Company gives the online show of the output to their clients they can view invoice, account details, balance and their rights.

The reason behind is expectation nothing else. In today's market the expectation of the customers are rise tremendously. Customers want more with their service provider they arrange all outcomes anywhere in the world over the web as well as by telephone, fax. According to the varies industry have produced different kind of transaction for their customers. Even though they also don't want o give more information to create a rental contracts and want more and more higher personal services. Where suppliers here also expect to deal electronically with the rental software like order placement, affirmation and settlement.

Software Companies - Generate New Revenue Streams and Decrease Costs with Custom e-Learning Content.....

It's no secret that software companies operate in a competitive space where rivalry is increasingly fierce and where profit margins can be razor thin. New, smaller software companies are sprouting up every month and the heading software companies continually make strong advancements forward leveraging massive cash flow reserves. This cycle makes it difficult for the mid-sized software company to compete due to (a) they do not typically have the cash flow necessary to take giant leaps forward in the industry and (b) because they need to continually move forward to stay ahead of the smaller software companies that are vying for their slot in the marketplace. Consequently, producing the jump from an unknown to a mainstream brand can prove to be very difficult for the mid-sized software company.

Finding ways to create early revenue streams and to decrease current costs is imperative to the success of companies caught in this cycle. They need to be thinking on their feet, thinking ahead and thinking creatively, all at the same time. This can be a daunting task, as any software executive'll tell you.

Despite all of the challenges that face the mid-sized software market, there are several ways to create these much needed revenue streams and to decrease current costs. New advancements in technology and its use in training and development make generating these revenue streams possible.

Setting the Stage

It is almost taken for granted that when an organization purchases a software package from a reputable vendor, a certain amount of end-user, customer training will be either bundled into the purchase price or made accessible to them for an additional cost. If training isn't available to the end-user customer, the learning curve on the new software package is going to be fairly steep, depending on the complexity of the software.

Typical training expense categories associated with most mid-sized software companies include:

1. The salaries of offline trainers
2. The travel expenses of offline trainers
3. The costs of producing hard-copy training manuals
4. The time involved in offline, onsite customer training

These expenses should be under a watchful eye and should be consistently viewed as expenses that could be alleviated to many degree to not only improve the company's attractiveness in competitive bid situations but to increase the profit margins of the supplemental training services give d by the company.

At the same time, in the background, mid-sized software companies should be looking for ways to create new revenue streams that they aren't currently capitalizing on to work in collaboration with their cost-reduction initiative.

Step 1: Lowering Training Costs Using Custom e-Learning Content

The first step to any well laid-out cost-reduction plan is to decrease the costs the organization currently incurs in order to get a better handle on profit achievable from sheer cost savings. Previously we outlined what your target cost categories are...now we're going to lower the costs associated with those categories by leveraging custom e-Learning content.

Take this scenario: A mid-sized software company that develops intranet portal systems currently employs 3 trainers that are onsite with clients for end-user training 3 days per engagement and they each average approximately 50 engagements per year for a grand total of 150 days on the road per trainer or 450 days on the road collectively.

For these trainers, the onsite training program for the end-user customer might look something like the following:

Day 1: Software Introduction and Primary Functions
Day 2: Functional Use and Administrative Actions
Day 3: Real-World Functions and Labs

Lowering the costs: By leveraging custom e-Learning content, the company used in the above scenario, can effectively decrease the onsite time required for each trainer, thereby reducing all costs associated with the training program across the board.

By using a professionally designed, self-paced, custom e-Learning module to focus on the Software Introduction and Primary Functions training that normally occurs on Day 1 and then delivering that learning module online to their end-user customers at the time of purchase through an e-Learning Management System (LMS), this company could decrease travel time for all 3 trainers by 1 day per engagement. This would decrease travel time for each trainer by 50 days per year, or 150 days collectively during the year. In addition the end-user customers will already be familiar with the software package before the trainers ever set foot in the front door.

This would successfully:

Decrease the costs associated with those 150 days of travel that are now being saved.

Enable the company's trainers to perform more training engagements OR enable the company to decrease the number of in-house trainers it employs.

Decrease the costs associated with creating and publishing the sections of the hard-copy training manuals that deal with the Software Introduction and Primary Functions training session that normally occurs in-person on Day 1 of the training engagement.

Taking it one step further: Reducing each trainers travel schedule by 1 day is good, but it isn't good enough. Software companies employing this cost-reduction method should take it one step further to enhance their end-user customer's experience. They need to make sure that their end-user customers are learning what they need to cognize to ensure time isn't being wasted covering the same topics when the trainer visits the customer site in-person.

To do this, the software company needs to look at how they plan to deliver the online training to their end-user customers. They will want to make sure that the end-user customers can track and manage the online training portion of their sessions, whether it is self-paced custom e-Learning content or real-time online trainer/student collaboration. Selecting this delivery platform can be difficult but it should include the following basic functions:

1. Student Knowledge Assessments
2. Student Success and Progress Tracking
3. Real-Time Interactivity
4. Self-Paced Learning Delivery

By selecting a delivery platform that addresses all four of these facets of end-user customer training, the mid-sized software company can not only decrease their own costs but enhance their client/vendor relationship by delivering more than what is normally expected or experienced in today's software market. What's the bottom line? The customer is pleased with their user's performance and the value they received from the software company.

Step 2: Creating Revenue Using Custom e-Learning Content

Now that we have lowered our costs, the company needs to look at how they can use their new learning technology to generate new revenue streams for their organization.

Take this scenario: The mid-sized intranet portal software company used in the scenario above now has their own proprietary basic end-user e-Learning module to cover 1 day's worth of what was antecedently onsite training. The company has effectively reduced their overall, offline training costs. Now it is looking for ways to generate new revenue streams using this technology to (a) make back their initial purchase costs and to (b) create more profit potential for the entire organization.

Creating the revenue: One way for a mid-sized software company, e.g. the one we're using in our example, to create this much needed revenue stream is to create subsequent, more advanced, self-paced, custom e-Learning training modules. Attractively priced, these learning modules could be made available to their end-user customers online without incurring any additional offline training costs.

In order to do this efficiently and without incurring additional offline training costs, the company needs to make it easy for the end-user customer to purchase the more advanced training content and make it easy for the end-user customer to track their own learners as they attend the training courses so they can readily see its effectiveness. By investing the money now to build the more advanced, custom e-Learning content, this mid-sized software company could realize profits from the training modules inside 12 to 24 months once they begin marketing and selling it to their existing client base. Such profits would be dependent on development timeframes, how they market their new training service and their selected modes of delivery.

Taking it one step further: Making the more advanced e-Learning content convincing and attractive to purchase from the client standpoint takes some ingenuity. People are very susceptible to purchasing something that is located right next to the checkout lane at Target. Similarly, it stands to reason that client of this mid-sized software company will be more apt to purchase additional e-Learning content if it is readily available to them and if they can purchase it without any hassle.

One way to accomplish this is to publish the new, more advanced, self-paced e-Learning modules to the company's LMS portal and then make the modules available for purchase via credit card using e-Commerce or via standard invoice with a single phone call. This essentially acts as the product stands we all see at Target next to the checkout lane. Since everyone needs to pass through checkout lane, it makes sense to put additional products available for purchase there. In other words, if the mid-sized software company is delivering portions of their beginner training program online to their end-user customers, this more advanced e-Learning content should be available for purchase right next to those basic training modules, thus, increasing its visibility and increasing the attractiveness to buy from the client perspective.

The Completed Solution

Because of the tight software market and the strain put on mid-sized software companies to perform, if these companies can decrease the costs associated with their current training programs and create new revenue streams at the same time, it becomes a win/win situation both for the vendor and for the customer. The software company gains a competitive edge and continues to move forward while the client gains an easy-to-engage training program and added value from their software vendor.

<h1 class="subject">I uploaded video editing software to my computer. Can I upload the same software to my new computer?</h1>

I bought the edit software at Best Buy, but just got a new computer. Will I be able to use the same disk to put that software on my new computer?

Read the back of the box. Read the specs. If it says something like Windows XP SP2 or later, then as long as the computer's XP or Vista, it will work.

If the first one's Windows, and the second one's Mac, then no. It won't work.

You need to read the licensing restrictions in the terms of use for the software. Although, physically you should be able to load the software to several computers you own, legally you are normally only allowed to load the program on to one computer.

If you upgraded your computer and you remove the software from your older computer you are normally within legal parameters.

<h1 class="subject">What makes software engineering a low stress job and so high paying?</h1>

I see consistent reports from US News and World Report that Software Engineering is a low stress, high paying job. If this is the case, then what degree can I get to become a software engineer?

you should get a computer science degree or a software engineering degree the website i have listed tells all about computer software engineers like the job prospects, earnings, nature of work, work environment, etc. and it is from the bureau of labor statistics

only low stress are the ones with little knowledge & not property educated. The ones that have an engineering degree and really know the industry & the industry they are developing for are HIGHLY STRESSED! I own my business & I've worked for large co's clueless employees only ones not stressed. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20090206191357AAeL12e&kid=EcUsPW.1LFrYjIYsAQF2&s=comm&date=2009-03-22+11%3A45%3A49&.crumb=

I recently retired after working 30 years in information technology jobs. I think the statement that they are "low stressed' is wrong.

As a design team leader, I interviewed people asking what they wanted. Then I wrote down what they said, they reviewed what I had written, it was revised, and then they gave me the authorization to start developing it.

But every time it was developed - something would be missing. And it was never their fault - it was always that the software engineering team had left something out. But they had never requested it. We were expected to work for free to add in what they had forgotten to ask for.

And all to often, I was told by the client that they only had $$ money and my team should be able to do the work for that much money and within the amount of time specified by the customer. My manager would say if I did not take the deal, then there was no need for me or my team and we could all clean out our desks.

And if I took the deal, my staff would say I was crazy taking on so much work for so little money and such a small time frame.

Still - if you don't have to manage the contract - it not too bad. But you should expect to donate free hours to get the job done.

The pay is good - I earned about $75,000/year plus benefits.

Low stress because you are on your own time. High paying because not too many people have the degree or knowledge needed. Check out www.dol.gov and look under Occupational Outlook Handbook. It will give you all the info you need, and the info is good until 2014. Good luck and peace.

I DONT THINK ITS LOW STRESSED.

GET AN MCA(AFTER BCA) OR B TECH.

after this questions gets reported you should ask again and choose words more carefully and legally. lol.

<h1 class="subject">What is the best software for network performance monitoring?</h1>

What software is considered the best for total network performance monitoring. I am in search of a software that will monitor our switches, routers, firewalls, and the overall performance of our network. This is a network running Win 03 as the OS, and has around 60-80 servers. Any suggestions? What are the pros and cons of such software?

Lots of commercial products will do this. But they tend to be expensive to buy and expensive to scale because of licensing.

Look into an open source solution. Try the link below:

<h1 class="subject">What software do I need to install in my laptop in order to gain access to encrypted wireless networks?</h1>

I need to gain internet access from various locations which do not have any wireless networks which are accessible by someone who does not have the password. My brother in law said there is a software I can install which will allow me to bypass the encryption password. Also, can you tell me where I might be able to download this software?

Thank you!

The software he is refering to is a completed one that is expensive. It is also very ILLEGAL. It's called Hack-in-the-Box (one of many).

If you do decide to use it & you get caught (a very easy task, much easier than hacking) believe me, the penalties are very severe. Hacking (which is what you'll be doing) is considered a very serious crime. Depending on what the network has on it or what you say or do, it could be considered a terroristic threat.

Don't go there. Penalties are too severe.

There is no software that can "bypass" the encryption.

You can crack the encryption, but that can take weeks, months and sometimes years to crack it.

Just live with what you have got.

Its illegal to connect to a network which you don't own. That is classes as hacking. Police can easily track people who do that and I would advise you not to do it.

<h1 class="subject">How does a software identify the computer where it is installed?</h1>

A computer has a processor, hard drive etc. We buy software like OS, office etc, for installing in it. But you can not install it in another computer. How does the software identify its "home" then? If I change the hard drive then can I reinstall the same software or I can not?

Each Network Interface Card has unique MAC Address.

All the components in the computer have a ROM which stores the serial number of the product. So the Motherboard etc. have a serial number which can be retrived.

The OS stores all these details during installation and during activation. The serial key is responsible for protectiting software piracy along with the activation which determin the HOME of the OS.

The activation has some threshold limitations.

Windows Product Activation (WPA) checks 10 hardware details

Display Adapter

SCSI Adapter

IDE Adapter (effectively the motherboard)

Network Adapter (NIC) and its MAC Address

RAM Amount Range (i.e., 0-64mb, 64-128mb, etc.)

Processor Type

Processor Serial Number

Hard Drive Device

Hard Drive Volume Serial Number (VSN)

CD-ROM / CD-RW / DVD-ROM

It then calculates and records a number based on the first device of each type that was found during setup, and stores this number on your hard drive. Initially, this is sent to Microsoft in an automatic dial-up, together with the Product ID number derived from the 25-character unique Product Key used in setting up Windows.

The hardware is checked each time Windows boots, to ensure that it is still on the same machine. Also, if you subsequently perform a complete format and reinstall of Windows, Microsoft’s activation center will have to be contacted again because the information held on the machine itself (the number previously written to your hard drive) will have been wiped out by reformatting the hard drive. If your hardware is substantially the same, this will be done by an automated call without your needing to talk to anyone.

What does ‘substantially the same’ mean? WPA asks for ‘votes’ from each of these ten categories: ‘Is the same device still around, or has there never been one?’ Seven Yes votes means all is well â€" and a NIC, present originally and not changed, counts for three yes votes! Minor cards, like sound cards, don’t come into the mix at all. If you keep the motherboard, with the same amount of RAM and processor, and an always present cheap NIC (available for $10 or less), you can change everything else as much as you like.

If you change the device in any category, you have lost that Yes vote â€" but will not lose it any more thereafter if you make changes in that category again. So, for example, you can install a new video display card every month for as long as you like.

Note that it appears that if you boot with a device disabled (disabled â€" not removed), the device is not found in the enumeration â€" so if, say, you disable a network connection which uses the NIC and then reboot, you may be missing its three votes and find that a new activation is needed. If you are doing such things, take the Hint 3 in What about formatting a hard disk? below, and restore the files concerned once the NIC is back in service.

What if I make too many changes?

If, on Windows startup, there are not the required seven Yes votes, the system will, in the original version of Windows XP, only boot to Safe Mode. You will be required to reactivate by a phone call to Microsoft. You will have to write down a 50-digit number, call into the activation center on a toll-free number that will be given to you, read and check back the number you recorded â€" and explain the circumstances. In exchange, you will be given a 42-digit number to type in. This will reactivate your copy of Windows.

This is made easier if Windows XP Service Pack 1 has been installed: The system will continue to boot normally for three days, during which time you will be able to contact the activation center via the net. If the extra changes have been removed, or if 120 days have passed since the original activation, you will be able to use the automatic process once more

What about formatting a hard disk?

Two things are recorded for disks: the number of the disk drive itself, and the Volume Serial Number (VSN) of the partition on it.

HINT No. 1: The VSN is part of the data in the partition’s first sector, so it is changed when you reformat the drive. It is worth getting the freeware utility Volume ID to restore the original VSN. Before you reformat, run VOL from a Command Prompt, note the VSN (e.g., 1F2E-3C4B) in the second line. Then, after the reformat and new Windows XP installation, defer the new activation until you have run Volume ID to restore the old VSN, and rebooted. This is not essential â€" but it saves one of the ‘Yes votes’ against any future hardware change. (If you don’t wish to run this utility, the next best way to obtain the same result would be to delete the old Win XP files from the hard drive before reinstalling, rather than actually reformatting.)

HINT No. 2: Another thing that changes the VSN is converting a FAT 32 partition to NTFS. So, if you upgrade a system using FAT 32 to Windows XP and intend to convert to NTFS, do the conversion before activating the system. Remember, you can wait a while: you have 30 days before you need to activate. The machine’s hardware at the time of the first activation is what counts. Or, if you have already activated, use Volume ID as described in Hint No. 1. If you are doing this after activation, also first back up the WPA.DBL and WPA.BAK files, as described in Hint No. 3 below, and, after completion of the conversion, restore these files and reboot again.

HINT No. 3: It is valuable to back up the two files WPA.DBL and WPA.BAK from the Windows\System32 folder. Then, should they get damaged, or should you do a ‘Repair’ reinstallation of Win XP, these files can be copied back to restore the prior activation status. However, this only works in those limited circumstances. The contents of these two files is matched to the specific Windows setup; therefore, contrary to what many journalists and members of the user community have written in recent months, restoring these files will not restore your activation status following a reformat and clean install.

The disk drive and partition recorded will be the ones that the system has found first when doing the initial activation: normally the one from which the system booted. So, if you change that disk and reinstall Windows to a new partition, you have lost two of the Yes votes. If, though, you add a new hard disk, copy the original partition onto it with an imaging program, and retain the original hard drive as a secondary data disk, it will still be found by a later check. This is because it searches for all disks, and the vote will be Yes in both categories if it finds the original one, with the partition not reformatted.

If you change the harddisk, yes you can reinstall the OS.

technically, you can install the OS, office etc, on another computer. however that may be considered software piracy since you did not purchase a license for use on the other computer. remember you normally supposed slap anauthenticity sticker somewhere on the cpu? that sticker contains the license for use on THAT computer. if you want to install on another computer you will (legally speaking) need to purchase another license.

normally once the software (particularly the OS) is installed it makes a list of the computer components and saves it in whats called a registry. if you try to copy the OS (including the registry) onto a different harddisk or another computer with entirely different components, the OS will fail to load and will most likely crash since the OS thinks its trying to run components that are existing but are actually different or not there at all.

<h1 class="subject">What software do you recommend I buy to go with my new digital camera?</h1>

I have just purchased a Fuji F31FD digital camera and would like photo editing software to go with it: the camera comes with software but I suspect it will be pretty basic.

Adobe photoshop 7.0 or higher, been using it in my design work for years and its top class stuff!

besided Adobe Photoshop, there is also Adobe Photo Elements which is very helpful

Photoshop (either 7 or PSCS or any version) is the top of the image working heap. Very expensive and big learning curve. PS's little brother, Elements, is as much program as most people need for a fraction of the cost. Try whatever the newest version of Elements is first. If it's not enough, you can always upgrade to the full version later.

Also Microsoft Digital Imaging Suites isn't too shabby.

Go to download dot com and have a look there are some good free ones on there.

Adobe Photoshop 7, as stated above, or the new Paint Shop Pro. 10 or 11. Cant remember...The new psp retails for about £90. Or, try downloading the GIMP. It's nearly as good as Adode CS2, and is free.

If you want to explore the world of Adobe Photoshop without spending the big money for the full product, get Photoshop Elements 5.0. It is a tremendously powerful program and it only sells for $99.00. You can get it at http://www.adobe.com or any of the usual places you buy software.

You can use it practically right out of the box with the "Quick Fix" option and then you can advance into the full program, learning TONS about the Photoshop world as you go. Frankly, I think neither you nor I would ever explore the full capabilities of Photoshop Elements 5.0. If you ever DO think you are ready for more, you will already know much of what you will need to know about "real" Photoshop. They'll undoubtedly have a new and improved version by then. Since Nikon just came out with a totally new image editting package, Adobe will have to step up to the plate.

Many people use Picasa, although I have not. I don't know how powerful it is, but it's free.

http://picasa.google.com/download/index.html

photoshop is very good but a free software is picaso

i know that a lot of people would say go buy photoshop which is a smart idea but its really hard to figure out & its really expensive i personally use paint shop pro & irfan view

they work great

If your new to photo editing you will only require Photoshop Elements 5.0, this is extremely useful but may take time to master. Photoshop CS is kinda only for professionals or semi-pro.

I asked myself this question when I changed to Digital a few years ago, and I have found that Photoshop Elements, reasonably priced, does all that I need.

<h1 class="subject">What software allows you to change a batch of photos at a time into cartoon form?</h1>

What software allows me to change a batch of photos into cartoon pictures.

Please tell me a free quick software.

I"m pretty sure there is no such program because every picture is different from the next. At least I have not come across one yet.

There is a filter on Adobe Photoshop called Stamp that may have a cartoon feel to it but it's not the best.

So, i suggest trying pen[cil?] and paper or take your time and use a photo editing program.

Good luck

<h1 class="subject">How do i uninstall a software without using a control panel?</h1>

I had to download my printer software for hp. Unfortunately I downloaded the software in some european language and now I am trying to uninstall it but it won't let me. It shows an error in some language which I can't read. So basically I can't uninstall the software from the control panel. Is there any other way of getting rid of this software so I can install one that is in English ! Thanks in advance

CCleaner should be able to do this for you. If you just delete the folder, you aren't deleting the registry entry for the program you are deleting. In order to delete the whole program you would need to delete registry entries as well.

http://www.ccleaner.com/update/?v=2.15.815&l=1033

A program I installed, not long ago, didn't come with an uninstall file. I found CCleaner and it was able to uninstall the program for me.

Or you can always go to the Hp support forums and find yourself a better answer You can even ask the same question over there as well with a fairly similar setup.

http://search.hp.com/query.html?lang=en&submit.x=0&submit.y=0&qt=how+to+uninstall+foreign+language&la=en&cc=us

1 was there any menu created in the allprograms on start menu ? most progs come with a uninstall shortcut even if foreign its still easy to recognise , but as its maybe only the drivers it may not.....

#2 As u cannot remove using the "add remove programs" from control panel means the install didnt complete and is missing the uninstall files or its a trojan.

#3 if u can try going into control panel > System > hardware > device manager > find your printer and uninstall the hardware completely , reconnect and try new software drivers/program (not 100% on that)

#4Is a risky method so be careful what u do , if u cannot totally delete the software , what u can do is make the computer think that its not there , if u click start menu and then "Run" type "regedit" this will open your computers registry directory, once there u r looking for "HK_local machine" (spelling not exact cant recall off top of head) then "software" inside here u find the exact name of the company that made the software and find the registry entry for that software and delete it, restart your computer and your comp will never know that it was even there. ( Be Warned Screwing with registry can screw up computer v easily so make 100% its the right one and dont change anything that ure not sure of , good luck

http://download.cnet.com/Revo-Uninstaller/3000-2096_4-10687648.html

its an amazing uninstaller. it unistalls the program completly and then runs a system scan to romove any files or folders left behind

i had programs on my computer that would never uninstall and then it was featured on cnet and i downloaded it.

it will also clean up junk files and give you the option of un-revoverable deleats, incase you have sensitive files that you do not want to be recovered.

You must use Add and Remove programs to uninstall this program or you will leave some of the old files on your PC.

NEVER delete a program's folder or you will be chasing down stray files to delete and it is not easy to d that. You can delete the folder if it stays after you use Add and Remove programs.

If you have Vista, go to Control Panel

Under Programs click on Uninstall a program

http://keepitsimplehtml.com

Try installing the English version. Maybe the computer will tell you that there is another version that is already installed and you can try to fix it that way. Otherwise, you can visit the HP Support Forums at the provided address or contact Customer Service at hp.total.care2@hp.com.

If you know what programs are associated with this software you could end task in task manager before uninstalling. You could also try to uninstalling it in safe mode, then find all files & folders for the program & delete them.

Good luck.

... download ccleaner, you can uninstall programs from there.

and if that dosent work dont use answers like

"delete the files"

because they are still in your computer (registry) and eventually it ruins your cpu

There should be an uninstall program that came with the printer software. That being said you may be able to install the English version without uninstalling the non-english version first.

I can only guess that if you download the one in English it would overwrite the one of a different language.

open program files in Windows

Delete the program

Run search and delete the traces

Finally,empty your Recycle Bin

Del its folder in Program File, or whenever you installed to.

You can also use Win Clean Up Utility

<h1 class="subject">What software can I use with a barcode scanner for our event's registration procedures?</h1>

My org will hold its annual convention this coming March. We want to take advantage of the bar codes found in students' IDs for faster registration procedures. We're planning to borrow barcode scanners from our school's IT dept, but they might be unwilling to let us use their software for security purposes, and also licensing purposes. What software can my org use that would be easy to use, complex enough for registration, but not too complex that we won't be able to understand how it works. Thanks!

<h1 class="subject">What software do artist use to draw characters on a computer?</h1>

I know there must be some software used to draw characters on websites??

or am i the only one who finds it effing hard to draw using a mouse??

anyway if you know of a peice of software that artist use for drawing on the computer (maybe a digital pencil??i dono )

then please let me know!!

any personal recommendations are also welcome!

yep!

it's called a tablet!

here's a cheap one!

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000NPGH2C/ref=nosim/?tag=dealtime-ce-feed-20&creative=380333&creativeASIN=B000NPGH2C&linkCode=asn

It depends on what type of character art you're talking about.

If you're talking about 3-D rendered characters, then that is made using 3-D modeling software such as 3-D Studio Max or Maya and then skinned with PhotoShop.

For regular drawing, quite often artists first draw out the characters by hand, scan the drawing into a computer, then clean and edit it through a drawing program such as PhotoShop, Illustrators, Paint, or FreeHand.

As for drawing by mouse, most artists use something called a Waccom tablet, which lets you draw with a pen tool on a tablet so that it simulates drawing by hand. If you are a real professional and afford $2000 you could upgrade to the Cintiq, which is a Waccom tablet with an LCD screen so that you "draw" directly onto the artwork via a screen.

http://www.wacom.com/index2.cfm

http://www.wacom.com/cintiq/

This is probably going to sound incredible tedious, but with a little practice (okay, I've had over a decade, but only as a hobby) it gets easier.

1. I draw the drawing freehand on paper. There's really no replacement for this as far as I'm concerned. I can't look away from my hand to draw.

2. I scan the drawing at a decent resolution (usually 300dpi, just 'cause it's my favorite dpi - 400 is obnoxious and 600 eats all my Doritos and doesn't pick up the crumbs, metaphorically speaking)

3. I place the drawing in Adobe Illustrator (nice if you can get it, but not the cheapest thing on the market - worth every penny in my book)

4. I make a new layer, lock the layer with the drawing on it, and proceed to outline over the original drawing, making sure of course not to draw with a fill, which would only cover up the drawing.

5. I apply my choice of colors and effects and tweak the heck out of it for the next couple of hours until I feel satisfied.

6. Then I delete the original drawing, naturally.

This is really tedious depending on a.) how much experience you have with the program you're using (Illustrator's my fave, but Freehand is okay, and I hear they still make CorelDraw, which I guess might do some of the same things) and b.) how detailed the drawing is.

I had a heck of a long chore putting scales on a couple of dragons using this method, but the end effect was pretty nice. For small cartoons and spot illustrations, it works pretty well once you get used to it.

Adobe Photoshop, Image Maker, and Freehand are big ones... i took graphic design classes, and we used all of those and more.

There are a couple things I can think of. One is to scan your original drawing into your computer then using whatever your program is, use or abuse the image you have imported as a coloring-type book page. The other is something I've just starting to experiment with, a PC tablet. They're available at most electronic stores, I presume. There is a certain learning curve, getting your hand-eye coordination to work together, and you do work with a stylus, but if you make the most of it, hopefully it will fun.

I draw in Photoshop CS2/CS3 with a Wacom Tablet.

Based on whether it's 2D or 3D, here are what I use:

Corel Painter for 2D Character Design

ZBrush for 3D Character Design.

People say 3ds max and Maya are the best for modeling. But the fact is, they can be frustratingly tedious for quick design and prototyping. Manipulating polygons intelligently is an art acquired over seasoned sessions at the PC... but with the recommendations above, character modeling is pretty easy. It also let's me do texturing right on the models, so the workflow is innovative.

<h1 class="subject">What software and drivers do I need to connect my Motorola Razr v3r to my computer?</h1>

I want to use it as a drive, and as a modem. I would also like to be able to charge it with the computer, transfer files, etc., but I have not been able to locate any of the software through Motorola. I don't have the CD that came with it. Does anyone have a link to these software and drivers?

You should be able to download the software available for Moto Razr, click here http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/nss/driversNplugins.asp to download the proper driver.

As for transfer files, etc....according to Moto site, it says "Motorola Phone Tools (MPT) can be purchased from the MOTOSTORE. It is available as a software download or as a CD-ROM that can be sent directly to you. Note: MPT can also be purchased at participating Best Buy stores nationwide."

Here's the link to the MOTOSTORE http://www.store.motorola.com/mot/en/US/adirect/motorola?cmd=catDisplayStyle&catKey=600960

So, if I were you, I would just buy a MicroSD card, (by 1 or 2 Gig, 4 or more gigs are HCSD (High Capacity Secure Disk), not not sure if your Rarz supports HCSD cards), 2 gig would be enough. Plug this MicroSD into the card reader, transfer all the files you want to this card, then plug this card into your fone, then you can access your file. You can even customize ringtone for each caller. If you remove that file later on, the ringtone won't work anymore, so copy it to your fone memory. Your fone has limited memory, so use sparely.

<h1 class="subject">What software do you use to store your password, card numbers and other precious date?</h1>

What software do you use to store your password, card numbers and other precious date? Is it safe using this Password Manager software?

It is never safe to store any passwords or credit card numbers on any computer with any application. That is, unless you're asking for identity theft/credit fraud :\

If you use some Password managers software which can not only store your passwords and login accounts, but also safely store personal information. A good password manager should provides applications and tools to help manage passwords and login information, like saving personal data or credit card information, launching web site.

http://www.sharewareguide.net/Utilities/Security-Encryption/imvajra-password-manager.html

It's best to never write it down; use passwords that you can easily remember (i.e. Fs&7ya ...Four-score and seven years ago).

If you have to write it down, use paper and pen and lock it in a safe...not on the computer.

If you have to save it on your computer and already have encryption software (i.e. Entrust, PGP, etc.) for email or files, just send your self an encrypted email with that info or encrypt the file.

The last choice would be to use some kind of password manager software (I just don't like the idea of all my treasure is in this one basket)...I know where my attention would be if I were a hacker.

have u tried stunnel - 4 ? but I dont think there's absolutely safe in the network as there are too many advanced decode tech appear everyday.

Actually, we have to protect our network far away from dangers beforehand especially in a large network(more than 50 PCs in your network), which anti-virus and firewall can not make such deal.In this aspect, Capsa is highly recommended as a professional, easy-to-use, and users-considerated network monitor&sniffer.

eWallet from Iliumsoft is very good, and they have excellent tech support if you ever have a problem.

<h1 class="subject">What software is the easiest to use to transfer digital tape to a computer?</h1>

I want to be able to edit, add music and titles and also to burn a DVD. I am not technically blessed, so I do need software that is easy to use. A friend suggested I buy a 'video digitizing package' which will contain both hardware and software.

Here's a helpful guide for transferring videos to the computer:

http://www.digitalvideoclub.com/basics/transfer.php

You can import the video to the computer with all video editing software - most popular are:

Adobe Premiere/Premiere Elements

Pinnacle Studio

Ulead VideoStudio

or if you're using Windows XP, included is a free video editor - Windows Movie Maker - which is user friendly.

For putting the footage onto the camera, you will need the following listed below, as well as steps I have outlined. If you are looking to spend a little bit more than the free Windows Moviemaker or Imovie that generally comes with computers. Let me know.

-For this process you will need a Firewire Cable (sometimes referred to as an IE 1394). This will be avaliable at most Electronics Store. For a laptop you will generally need a 4-pin (Laptop End) to 4-pin (Camera End) connector. For a Desktop it is generally a 6-pin (Desktop End) to 4-pin (Camera End).

-Once you have your camera hooked up, open a Video Editing Program on your computer. Generally Windows will come with Movie Maker (located under accesroies), or on a Mac you have IMovie.

-In either of these programs, depending on your Operating System, open the capture tool. If you have properly connected your camera, and have it turned on, in Playback Mode (VCR Mode), you should see it now on the computer.

***NOTE: It is usually best to turn plug in the camera, turn it on and put it in Playback mode before starting the capture tool in the program.

-Once you see it on the screen, you should have a button that either says record, or looks like the record button. Press this, and the camera should start playing and recording to your comptuer. If the camera does not automatically start playing, press play on it.

-Once you are finished bringing in files, hit stop on your PC. You now have these files on there, most likely in an AVI format (The Highest Quality).

-You can then edit and manipulate it however you want, and export it as a movie. To put longer movies on the internet or DVD, you will probably have to downsize it to MPEG-1 or MPEG-2. This is another problem for another day.

<h1 class="subject">What software are there to track which websites a wireless router user has visited?</h1>

I am looking for software that can track the websites and webpages a user has visited. For example, I am operating a wireless router that connects 5-7 users to the Internet. I am interested in what are these people are doing with my wireless service, as in are they abusing the wireless service that I am providing to them?

I am interested in how much time they are spending on the Internet, what websites they have visited or the webpages they are surfing and if they are downloading materials.

I know that such software are available on the open market but so far, I'm not sure where to find them. I am hoping for examples of such software that I can use.

Furthermore, I also wonder if the users on my wireless router can block such tracking software or If they can tack my attempts to follow them or if they will be aware if I am using such software to track them.

I undertsand that large networks and corporations routinely use such software. Are such software very expensive?

One solution is to setup a transparent proxy.

http://www.squid-cache.org/

This can be done as to not interfere with access but can provide all sorts of data including every web access or you can restrict certain sites if you really want to. There are several add-ons that have been done for squid to provide reporting from the logs that it can keep. A side benefit is that using caching you can maximize bandwidth and make browsing effectively quicker for sites that are visited frequently or by multiple users.

This is basically a free solution. Any, say, old pentium machine with decent network cards, a fair amount of memory, HD space and Linux loaded on it can handle this.

You could also use something like tcpdump (a packet capture utility) which can monitor *all* traffic going through the network. This too is a free program.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tcpdump

http://www.tcpdump.org/

The average user would have no idea if you were using any type of 'tracking' method. And all but the most knowledgable would be aware of certain methods (eg tcpdump can be quite difficult to determine if it is being used depending on how it is used). While it would be pretty easy for someone to realize that they are going through a proxy (eg. a random error with the proxy accessing a page) this can be excused as being in place for the speed benefit.

Many corporations probably use some commercial software, mainly because they have a budget and don't care so much about cost as they do prettiness and nifty charts and reports that a program can make for them with ease. There is plenty of open source software that can do just as much. For more possibilities do a search on freshmeat or sourceforge.

<h1 class="subject">What kind of software do I have to buy for sprite animation?</h1>

Look into Adobe Fireworks. They probably have a free trail so you can know if it will work for you before you buy it.

Dont think it has to do with software. You will need a community or social network platform. You can try:

http://www.ning.com/

However, if you like to make some revenue from your website, you should develop your own website. You can however, download free templates.

Then you will need to host your website. There are many hosting companies that can do that for you.

A cheap yet reliable website host is http://hostgatorhost.pinurl.com

II suggest you viit http://www.hostingcouponoffer.com they give you a free domain name, unlimited webspace and transfer and come with a full suite of software to help you build your site.

Also if you enter the coupon code 25OFF they will give you 25% off their yearly plans.

I have several sites with them and have been more than happy with their 24 hour support.

Hope this helps

louise.

I recommend one of these: http://www.hosttell.com/

Powweb is on a 50% sale - $3.88/month ($46.56/year), and you get a free domain from them.

They offer easy, one click installs of Wordpress, phpBB forums and lots of other software.

You need a web host supporting multimedia.

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.

If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.

As an experienced webmaster I recommend BlueHost service which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.

They are a Multi-awarded Web Hosting which offer a Full-featured service only $6.95. You can see their Plan Details accompanied with reliable reviews regarding their service at:

http://www.threehosts.com/reviews/1st

Here I have copied and pasted its features from their website to view:

- Free Domain Forever

- Unlimited Space

- Unlimited Transfer

- Host UNLIMITED Domains (Support All Domain Names)

- 2,500 POP/Imap Email Accounts

- SSH (Secure Shell), SSL, FTP, Stats

- CGI, Ruby (RoR), Perl, PHP, MySQL

- Front Page Extensions

- Free Site Builder

- 24/7 Superb/Responsive Sales/Support

- Free Search Engine Submission

They also offer "Free Site Builder" that helps you build your web pages without difficulty if you are not skilled in using any website creating program. (WYSIWYG: What You See Is What You Get) You can use this service optionally.

******IMPORTANT*******

* This service was awarded “The Best Web Host OF The Year”.

* If you sign up for this service you will have $75 credits to advertise your website with the google & yahoo search engines for free!

* You Can Register A Free Domain or Use Your Existing Domains. They Support All Domain Names.

<h1 class="subject">What software is available to put restrictions on programs and games?</h1>

My parents are concerned about my younger sibling's use of the computer. They spend way too much time playing games. Are there any software available that allows passwords on software before opening the programs?

We all use the same user and having different users is not the solution. I need software to allow only certain programs. Fort Knox have a program that locks your files, but that isnt going to work.

Any ideas or free ware out there? Please let me know!

Well, Windows Vista has parental controls built right into the computer that let you limit usage. There are also third-party softwares out there like Webroot Parental Controls (however nothing free that I'm aware of).

It's worth noting that you pretty much HAVE to use multiple accounts on the same computer to limit usage. Otherwise the computer has no idea how it should limit certain games/programs/websites/etc. Adding extra accounts is a pretty trivial process though.

<h1 class="subject">What software do Electronic musicians use to create their music?</h1>

A friend of a friend has been making music himself using a software (or softwares) that my friend doesn't know.

Do you know what software that can generate artificial musical instruments sounds and mix them up like the DJs do?

All you need to do that is a computer. With a program like FL Studio, you don't even need a MIDI keyboard (piano). You can use the keyboard on your computer to tigger the instruments in FL Studio. Of course, if you can get a MIDI keyboard it would be best though.

All you need is a USB to MIDI cable, about 30-40 bucks and start up FL Studio and you are good to go.

Check out the demo of FL Studio here: http://flstudio.image-line.com/documents/download.html

Make sure you read the F1 help manual to get started. You can import any VSTi (virtual instrument) into FL Studio. Image-Line makes several, the flagship being "Sytrus" which comes with the XXL version of FL Studio at a major discounted price.

If you end up liking FL Studio, here is a link I used to buy my FL Studio with a 10% discount on the ENTIRE first purchase, anybody can use it:

https://support.image-line.com/jshop/shop.php?offer=Default&promo=BFHEHAH486

Once you buy FL Studio from image-line's online shop, you get FREE LIFETIME updates..meaning you don't pay a cent each year they release a new version (9,10,11, ect.. for free).

Good luck and have fun

Hai....

A famous term of your question is looping, looping means you have a standard basic music loop for drums, bass or other instrument, and modified the beat, tempo, sound or style, mixing it together to create an electronic song.

Nowdays there are many software for loop, like Fruity Loop, Nuendo, Sonar, Protools, Magix, etc.

All you need is a PC, a sound card with midi controller, and a midi instument. But you can also create your music with out midi instrument by editing existing loop, transpose it, change the tempo, modify the drum style, etc. But if you use a midi instrument (Creative Labs produce a cheap mini midi keyboard like common PC's keyboard) you can create your own style easily.

You can learn it yourself, by downloading the relevant books of the software on internet.

It's easy, only took 1 week to learn and become electronic musician, but you also must have musical skill.

Good luck for trying

<h1 class="subject">What software allows you to make a powerpoint presentation more like a movie?</h1>

I have to do a powerpoint on the Maya for my Spanish class. I didnt want to the same old, long, boring presentations. I remember last year, one of my friends used a software that made the powerpoint presentation more like a movie. I havent been able to contact that friend but I was hoping others may know the software he used.

Photoshop cs2 or higher

if you have one, you can go to windows>animation

a box will appear then you can go from there

it's easy specially when you know how to use the photoshop already :)

Do you mean view the PowerPoint presentation in video format that look like a movie?

If it is like this, you can try these two tools:

http://www.ppt-to-video.com/powerpoint-to-video-overview.html

http://www.ppt-to-dvd.com/ppt-to-video-overview.html

After the converting, you can view your presentations just like a movie.

Hope it can help.

Hi, Why don't you use Windows Movie Maker,... it's on Windows XP and Vista. Vista is far better. I have done beautiful slide-shows using this software. 'Windows Movie Maker' will allow you to create great titles at the beginning, credits at the end and sub-titles on each of your slides, which can fade in or out, as well as, different transitions between each slide. Add some nice instrumental music and it's done. Once it's saved on your computer, just burn it to a DVD. In this way you can not only play it back on your laptop, but also on your DVD player on the TV. You would enjoy doing it and everyone will love it. One tip,.. try to contain it to about 20 minutes - you don't want to put people asleep.

I suggest that you use E.M. PowerPoint Video Converter V2.40, It can quickly converts PowerPoint to video, audio and images, such as avi, flv, 3gp, swf, mkv, mpeg2 ts, DVD, mp4, mov, mp3...

Source(s):

http://www.effectmatrix.com/PowerPoint-Video-Converter/index.htm

You can use windows movie maker. Go to start, programs, accessories, windows movie maker. Once you save it it can be played in media player on any windows computer.
